It seems just fifteen minutes ago I was talking about Ms Mr’s Tumblr roll and now they’re on Columbia Records. You know who else just got signed to Columbia Records? Daft Punk. Did you see Ms Mr when they preformed at the Gibson Guitar Showroom last summer? They stole the show from Alex Winston. Did you see them open for Marina and the Diamonds? How about Grouplove? All three of those 9:30 Club shows were Sold Out. It’s no surprise that their song “Bones” turned up in a preview for the season three of Game of Thrones.
The video for “Fantasy”, the first single off their major label debut, Secondhand Rapture, has all the high production flare that comes with being on a major record label. Their tumbles are now concise dark pop anthems with a specific vision. If there is glitter spewing out of the mouths of cheerleaders in their new video, what’s going to happen on this festival stage?

Alright, people. It’s time to GEEK OUT!
REASONS TO COME EARLY: MS MR
Supporting GROUPLOVE on 10.29 & 10.30
Anyone who snagged tickets to GROUPLOVE is certainly prepared to dance. Extend the party and check out the killer experimental pop duo, MS MR. Get ready for haunting vocals, synth beats, and lyrics that are melancholy in sentiment but upbeat in delivery. Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow released their debut EP, Candy Bar Creep Show (which is so appropriate for Halloween) this past July. The rushing of images in the video for their first breakout song “Hurricane” will make you a bit dizzy and captivated all at once. MS MR is the perfect prelude to GROUPLOVE.

VOTD: Ms Mr – ‘Hurricane’ because most of the music that we like is rooted in our own personal nostalgias. Basically, we like what we like because of the experiences we’ve had with music. The best part about this up and coming band is that they’re so firmly aware of their particular nostalgic background. In this video for their single ‘Hurricane’ we get a shotgun blast of the inner workings of the mind of Ms Mr. Consider it a tumblr dump summing up where all the gorgeously dark-laced pop comes from that Ms Mr revel in so hard. Ms Mr will be creating some new awesome musical experiences when they open for GROUPLOVE 10/29 and 10/30.
