WE LOVE OUR PARTNERS: MaCRoCk
It’s that time of year again—the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, and festival season is right around the corner. And what better way to start off festival season than with the largest independent music conference on the East Coast! That’s right, our Partner Feature this week is MACROCK.
Happening on April 5th and 6th in downtown Harrisonburg, Virginia, MACROCK will host music showcases of various genres, ranging from noise rock to metal to pop to experimental and tons more. With over 80 bands performing, you definitely will not want to miss out on this. Bands like… Waxahatchee, Dope Body, Roomrunner, We Were Skeletons, Julianna Barwick, Cat Martino, On An On, Holopaw, Eternal Summers, Jaill, Diarrhea Planet, Cheap Time, The People’s Temple, Young and In the Way, Old Wounds—just to name a few. Yeah, how cool? And the best part? It’s only a mere two hour drive from DC. So if you need a mini-music getaway, MACROCK is your answer.
MACROCK, which began in 1996 as a branch of James Madison University’s student-run radio station (WXJM). prides itself by remaining a showcase of independent musical acts perpetuated by the belief that music can thrive without a corporate influence. Boom, killin’ it. And keeping it local and independent - two things we love! So make the trek to MACROCK, you definitely won’t regret it!
