Passion Pit’s new single, ‘Take a Walk’ is the perfect addition to your Summer 2012 soundtrack. This band never ceases to surprise us, and with ‘Take a Walk’ we get to hear a whole new side of Cambridge, Mass. quintet. Don’t worry, the great synth and electro pop beats that made their debut album Manners such a success are still here. But this time, the lyrics take more of a dominant role, a crucial move for lead vocalist Michael Angelakos, proving Passion Pit’s versatility. ‘Take a Walk’ is definitely a more laid back tune than past hit tracks like ‘Sleepyhead’ and ‘Little Secrets,’ but we believe that this single is a positive step for Passion Pit. If you like ‘Take a Walk,’ get pumped, because Passion Pit’s highly anticipated second album, Gossamer, is set to be released on July 24th.
